ok - this is so sad and pathetic it's funny.I love techie stuff - Last year I bought a PDA - and after spending about an hour and a half trying to figure out how to put in the date and time - I shoved it in a box under my bed - never to be seen again. For xmas I got a GPS - (cause I am a dork) Being that I had never had one before - didn't really know what I was doing with one, didn't stop me from getting one of the most expensive hand held devices out there (I did say no to color screen - for an extra $200 though). I mean this thing is so smart, I am waiting for the day when I am out geocaching - and it gets sick of me going the wrong direction and says - hey dumbass - turn around - walk back 10 feet and there you are.So what did I do with this new piece of technology??? (if you don't know what geocaching is - check out: www.geocaching.com)I have done a few caches - so I decided it would be fun to hid a cache for other to find. Got myself a little waterproof jar, some toys to put in it, all the bells and whistles needed to hide the cache - saddled up the dogs yesterday for a hike into the great wide open - and found a nice little place to hide said treasure. Here is where it gets fun - Set my GPS up on the rock - waited a minute for it to position itself - logged my spot - threw everything into my bag to head back home to post the cache.Went home - and posted it... Then proudly sent it to my caching friend - with a nice little tormenting letter - telling him nanny nanny nanny - bet you can't find it... A few minutes later my phone rings - and said friend of mine - is laughing is ass off - apparently the coords I had posted - were NOT the ones of the hidden cache - but the coordinates of my home.Of course with everything - it only takes 2 seconds to do something - but a week to undo it... I had to email the people at the geocaching.com and explain my boneheadedness - and ask them to please change the site to reflect the CORRECT coords - lest I want avid hunters trying to hop into my back yard in search of treasures...
